Our Year 4 pupils are involved as Playground Buddies, Play Leaders, Reading Buddies, House Captains, Sports Captains and Librarians.
As a school we provide a creative approach to the National Curriculum. We are very proud of our Forest School for which we have 3 trained leaders throughout the school. Our children are involved in a variety of school trips, topic days, numeracy themed days and we invite visitors and theatre companies in to support the curriculum. Throughout the year our children have opportunities to participate in sporting events and festivals. All children in Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 have swimming lessons. The children share their learning with parents through their Learning Logs and Class Assemblies. All children participate in a production throughout the year at Christmas, Easter or in the Summer Term. Our choir also attends various events throughout the year.
We have a large, well-equipped hall for P.E, an on-site kitchen providing hot meals, a recently renovated children’s library and a computer suite. There is a hard surfaced playing area with painted tracks and markings for playground games, two adventure playgrounds and a large field which is used for playtimes, sport and social activities. There is a woodland area with a well-developed Forest School which is regularly used as an outdoor learning environment. It is adjacent to a school garden where the children plant and grow fruit and vegetables
We are fortunate to have spacious, attractive and well-resourced accommodation with all the facilities on one site. The Reception classes have their own purpose designed classrooms with teaching, wet play and practical areas and their own outdoor playground with games, markings, a soft play area, music area and play equipment.
We offer a range of extra-curricular activities including choir, football, dancing, multi-sports and netball. Peripatetic music teachers provide instrumental tuition for recorder, violin and guitar.
