Computing

Our curriculum is designed to give all learners, in an increasingly technological world, the knowledge and skills they need to become the computational thinkers of the future. We want our children to develop their computing knowledge and creativity to help them understand and change the world around them. The planning and sequencing of our curriculum will enable pupils to build on previous learning, ensuring they know more, remember more and do more.

As a Catholic school, the teachings of the Gospels are at the heart of everything we do. This leads our Computing curriculum to be rooted in love for one another and teaches our children to use technology safely and respectfully, demonstrating responsibility of themselves and others through their use of information technology.

We provide opportunities for all children to:

  • Meet the requirements of the National Curriculum Programmes of Study for computing.
  • Use computing as a tool to enhance learning throughout the curriculum.
  • To respond to new developments in technology.
  • To equip pupils with confidence and the capability to use computing throughout their later life.
  • To enhance learning in other areas of the curriculum using computing.
  • To develop the understanding of how to use computing safely and responsibly.
