This term we have been learning all about The Victorians. We have explored what life was like for rich and poor people during that period and also learnt about the life and reign of Queen Victoria. We went on a trip to Hartlebury Museum, where we dressed up as Victorians for the day. We got to see what it was like in a Victorian classroom, we played with some Victorian toys and also learnt what life was like as a servant.
As part of our topic, we have also created some lovely art work in the form of portraits of Queen Victoria to go with biographies that we learnt about her life.
As part of our RE unit on Belonging, we visited our parish church, St Peter’s, to explore significant objects and religious relics in the church.
The start of the new academic year saw Year 3 going to Cadbury World where much chocolate was eaten as well as learning all about this sweet subject! They also though about Healthy Eating and had a visit from Warburton’s bakery where they designed and made a healthy sandwich. They read Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and made silhouette pictures of a factory skyline and life-size collages of characters from the book.
