Working with Parents

LPPA_2014-2017We welcome you as parents to our school community and look forward to a happy and supportive partnership.

We are committed to home and school working together to do the best for your child while he or she is in our care.  Your child’s progress and well-being at school will develop more fully with mutual support and co-operation and we greatly value the good relationships which we have established with our parents.

We offer an Induction Evening and Home Visits for Reception pupils, “Meet and Greet your new teacher sessions”, Early Reading and Phonics, Numeracy and Writing information evenings, followed by workshops, Curriculum Evenings for parents of Year 1, 2, 3 and 4, Numeracy Calculation Evenings and  Parent Consultation Evenings. We recognise that all pupils are individuals and where a pupil is identified as having special educational needs, we will take action to remove barriers to learning and put effective SEN provision in place. We have established good links with the Early Intervention Team and other outside agencies. We keep parents updated through our weekly newsletter and termly curriculum letters.

In June 2014 we were delighted to receive revalidation of the Leading Parent Partnership Award. (LPPA)

Our active parents’ association called ‘The Friends of St. Peter’s’, organise a range of fund raising and social activities throughout the year. Our ‘Parent Voice’ is an open forum for parents to make suggestions which may contribute to future developments.  All parents are most welcome to join us and come to the informal meetings which are regularly held each term to plan future events and further develop best practice at our school.

Prospective parents are warmly invited to attend our Open Days/Events or to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher and view our school.

“School are very supportive and caring. We have a good relationship and  communicate well.”
