Multi Skills Festival

Recently we attended a local Muli Skills Festival at Bromsgrove School. The children enjoyed lots of different activities and games including football, boccia and their favourite New Age Kurling! The children were a credit to the school as they showed excellent behaviour, skill and resilience to try all that was on offer. Well done Year One!

Autumn Day

Year One have had a busy day exploring the season of Autumn! We put on our wellies and went for an Autumn walk finding different colours and shades of leaves. We used leaves and sticks to create our own pieces of artwork outside. We also went in Peter's Pod for an Autumn story.

Once Upon a Time

Our first topic in Year One is Once Upon a Time! We will be learning about Traditional Tales through exciting activities.

Once Upon a Time

We will continue with our topic Once Upon a Time! We will be learning about Traditional Tales through exciting activities. We will also be learning about Trees in Science and in History the First Moon Landing.

Science - Trees

We used the Orienteering course to identify the names of trees native to the UK by looking at images of their leaves. We looked at the different shapes, colour and patterns on the leaves to help us. We had lots of fun using the maps to find our way around!   

 

Observationl Drawings of an old Teddy Bear

As part of our toys topic we have created our own observational drawings of an old Teddy Bear. Don't they look fab? 

  

Traction Man

World Book Day 2024

We had an awesome day in the Dragonflies celebrating World Book Day! We all came to school dressed in our pyjamas, onsies and costumes, which was very exciting! We took part in a book swap, a stop drop and read where we stopped to read our book when the drum sounded and we also wrote a book review and designed bookmarks and book covers. We also listened to some of Mr Pinnock's favourite stories from home!

St George's Day Class Assembly

The Dragonflies did themselves proud to tell everybody about Saint George in their Class Assembly! They all spoke with confidence, enthusiasm and even put on a Oscar winning performance of Saint George slaying the dragon. They were really 'Roarsome'.
